Precautions when using eco-friendly boards to make furniture during the winter heating season

Since November, northern my country has fully entered the winter heating season. When using eco-friendly boards to make furniture during this period, please pay attention to the following points to avoid unnecessary losses. Please read carefully. We are not referring to any specific brand; the following points apply to all brands of eco-friendly boards:

1. Ecological boards have a solid wood core and a veneer. They have the thermal expansion and contraction characteristics of solid wood boards. Therefore, when constructing in winter, it is important to keep the moisture content in the air at the construction site between 8% and 12%, and the temperature at the construction site should not exceed 20℃. Because the environment is dry in winter, coupled with continuous heating, it is essential to pay attention to ventilation and moisture retention.

2. Due to climate conditions, ecological boards will inevitably crack due to moisture loss. For your warm and beautiful home decoration, please maintain a suitable temperature and humidity in the environment and seal the edges on all four sides as soon as possible after the boards are cut to prevent the moisture from being quickly absorbed by the dry air and causing furniture cracks.

3. After the furniture is made, if the house is unoccupied for more than two days, turn off two-thirds of the heating valves and place a basin of water in each room. Do not open the windows, because the convection of cold and hot air will accelerate the natural cracking and warping of the boards.

In occupied rooms, the occupants clean and mop the floor every day, and their breathing also increases the humidity of the indoor air. Therefore, the chances of the wood panels in a room occupied for a long time being cracked and warped are much lower.

4. There is no such thing as wood that will not crack. Even railway tracks and bridges need to allow for shrinkage. Although the wood used in solid wood furniture has been dried for decades or even hundreds of years, it will still shrink to varying degrees under conditions of uneven temperature and humidity. Therefore, we must ensure that the temperature and humidity of the environment in which the ecological board is used are balanced in order to ensure that the product you use achieves the expected purpose.
