Standard Compilation | "Poplar Drying and Sawn Timber"

To all relevant units:

Poplar, as an important timber resource in my country, has a wide range of uses and a huge market. To regulate the market for dried poplar lumber, promote its application in the furniture and building materials industries, and foster the development and brand promotion of outstanding enterprises producing and selling dried poplar lumber, the China Timber and Wood Products Distribution Association has decided to formulate the group standard "Dried Poplar Lumber" in accordance with the "Regulations on the Management of Group Standards" issued by the State Administration for Standardization and the Ministry of Civil Affairs. This standard will regulate the production and application of dried poplar lumber in terms of specifications, dimensional deviations, drying defects, material indicators, and uses, thereby improving the overall technical level of dried poplar lumber and standardizing the behavior of poplar production enterprises.

By developing this standard, the China Timber and Wood Products Distribution Association will organize a survey on poplar fast-growing timber resources and applications, visiting major poplar producing areas and poplar consumer markets in Henan, Shandong, Hubei, Hunan, and Jiangsu, as well as large-scale poplar processing and application enterprises, to collect first-hand data on dried poplar lumber.

The association will also hold a press conference at important conferences it hosts to officially release this standard to the industry, and will use the association's traditional and new media to widely publicize the standard and spread it throughout the industry.

Once the standard is completed, a year-long standard promotion campaign will be organized to ensure that the standard becomes a universally recognized and adopted practical standard in the industry in the shortest possible time. Companies that have done a good job in adopting the standard will be given special publicity and promotion. Furthermore, efforts will be made to promote the standard upgrade and, when conditions are ripe, elevate the standard to an industry standard.

We welcome poplar processing and production enterprises, poplar lumber application enterprises, business associations in major poplar producing and consuming areas, poplar-related research institutions, and experts and scholars to actively participate in the compilation of the "Poplar Drying and Sawn Timber" standard, and jointly contribute to the development of the poplar industry.
