Home is where the days and nights of life are recorded; building materials are what make up every detail of our homes.

As people's demands for quality of life gradually increase, they are becoming more and more interested in environmentally friendly products. Among the many types of boards, OSB board stands out as an all-around excellent performer.

The Road to Fame for OSB Boards

OSB board, introduced in the 1970s, is a common base material used in decoration and construction in Europe and America. Its full name is Oriented Strandboard, and because it originated in Europe, it is often simply referred to as OSB in China.

It is a multi-layered structural board made by applying glue to large wood shavings of a specified shape and thickness, laying them in an oriented manner, and then hot-pressing them. Because the shavings on the surface are oriented along the length or width of the board, it is scientifically known as "oriented strand board".

Formal OSB research in China began in 1978 and was included in the National Eighth Five-Year Plan for Science and Technology. In 1998, the drafting of industry standards for OSB began, and in 2001, they were officially promulgated and implemented.

Its enduring popularity both domestically and internationally, and its superior performance, have been widely praised.

OSB has been a staple in Europe for over 40 years. In the past five years, OSB production in my country has increased rapidly, and its superior performance has been widely praised by customers.

OSB boards have a highly regular internal structure. The surface shavings are arranged longitudinally, while the core shavings are arranged transversely. This crisscrossing arrangement reorganizes the wood grain structure, eliminating the influence of internal stress on processing and giving it exceptional workability and moisture resistance. It is precisely because of this directional structure that OSB boards are jointless, gapless, and crack-free, with excellent overall uniformity and extremely high internal bonding strength. Whether in the center or at the edges, they possess unparalleled nail-holding power compared to ordinary boards.

Currently, OSB boards, as an environmentally friendly building decoration material, are widely used in construction, decoration, furniture, and packaging in developed countries such as North America, Europe, and Japan. In my country, OSB boards are commonly used in the decoration of high-end homes such as villas and large apartments, becoming an upgraded replacement for medium-density fiberboard, blockboard, and plywood.

OSB boards: Leading the way in exceptional quality.

Compared to plywood, medium-density fiberboard, and blockboard, OSB has a smaller coefficient of expansion, better stability, more uniform material, and stronger screw-holding power. Because its shavings are arranged in a certain direction, its longitudinal bending strength is much greater than its transverse strength, so it can be used as a structural material and as a load-bearing component.
