What is an OSB board?
✔ OSB is a high-quality solid wood board made from logs through professional automated equipment processes such as rotary cutting, drying, gluing, and hot pressing.
✔ OSB is made of formaldehyde-free PMDI adhesive, with approximately twice the number of structural layers as ordinary plywood, a moisture content of 2-4%, and zero formaldehyde release.
✔OSB board, as an environmentally friendly building decoration material, has been widely used in construction, decoration, furniture, packaging and other fields in North America, Europe and Japan. It is an upgraded, updated and replacement product of plywood, blockboard and other boards.

What are the advantages of OSB boards compared to traditional boards?
1. Superior performance and wide range of applications
Compared to plywood, medium-density fiberboard, and other types of boards, OSB boards have better stability, more uniform material, and higher screw holding power, making them suitable for structural materials and load-bearing components.
It is an upgraded, updated, and replacement product of traditional plywood and other boards;
It can be mainly used in: wall panels, partitions, furniture, cabinets, wardrobes, bathroom cabinets, flooring, container panels, and interior decoration.
Traditional boards generally have poor nail-holding power. If nails are driven into the gaps, they have virtually no load-bearing capacity. They are also prone to significant changes in shape during later processing, making them unsuitable for load-bearing components and less versatile than OSB boards.
2. Extremely low formaldehyde emission.
OSB is made of formaldehyde-free PMDI adhesive (wood itself contains trace amounts of formaldehyde, which can be ignored), with zero formaldehyde release, making it comparable to natural wood.
OSB is one of the fastest-growing types of wood-based panels in the world. Because OSB boards have a formaldehyde content that is essentially zero, they are being accepted by more and more consumers.
Compared to OSB boards, traditional boards use adhesives with high formaldehyde content during production, resulting in higher formaldehyde emissions, which is why these boards have a pungent odor. Furthermore, many boards have rough surfaces, so woodworkers often use large amounts of glue or paint during on-site surface treatment, further increasing the formaldehyde content.
3. High process requirements and stable structure
The manufacturing process of OSB boards mainly involves drying, gluing, oriented laying, and hot pressing of shavings of a certain geometric shape. It is technically challenging and requires significant investment in equipment.
The surface shavings of the OSB board are arranged longitudinally, while the core shavings are arranged transversely. This crisscrossing arrangement makes the internal structure more compact, and the seismic resistance, impact resistance, and bending strength all meet high requirements.
4. High cost performance
Compared with similarly sized plywood, multi-layer boards, and engineered wood, OSB boards offer extremely high cost-effectiveness.
