Eco-board and particleboard each have their own advantages and are both best-selling engineered wood products. Eco-board is popular because it is paint-free, environmentally friendly, and comes in a variety of vibrant colors, while particleboard is favored by homeowners for its low price and wide range of uses. So which one is more environmentally friendly? Which one is more suitable for home decoration? Homeowners are advised to be cautious when buying boards and not let their home decoration be ruined by the materials used.
01. From the perspective of environmental performance
Glue is a source of formaldehyde. Particleboard requires a large amount of glue to bond the particle materials, while the glue in eco-board is only used for veneer coating and surface bonding. Under the same specifications, particleboard uses 4-5 times more glue than eco-board. If the glue is not environmentally friendly, the formaldehyde content of the finished particleboard is 4-5 times that of eco-board. Moreover, eco-board does not require painting when used for home decoration.
In terms of environmental performance, eco-friendly boards are more environmentally friendly and safer than particleboard.
02. From the perspective of physical properties
Particleboard is made entirely of small, broken particles, resulting in poor compressive strength, weak nail-holding power, and difficulty in processing and shaping. When used in home decoration, it suffers from drawbacks such as chipped teeth, slipped nails, deformation, and sagging. Eco-board, on the other hand, uses a rigid board as its base material, boasting excellent physical and mechanical properties. It has strong nail-holding power, good compressive strength, is easy to process, and is of high quality and durability, making it the best material currently available for manufacturing panel furniture.
In terms of physical properties, eco-boards are more suitable for making furniture and are more durable than particleboards.
03. From the perspective of cost performance
Particleboard has low requirements for raw materials, production processes, and equipment, making it easy to mass-produce and therefore inexpensive, but it often has quality issues. Eco-board, on the other hand, has high requirements for its substrate and undergoes a finishing process, offering advantages such as being environmentally friendly and paint-free, waterproof and moisture-proof, wear-resistant and scratch-resistant, with rich colors and patterns, natural textures, and easy to clean. It is slightly more expensive than particleboard, but has virtually no quality problems.
In terms of cost-effectiveness, eco-friendly boards are more cost-effective and worth buying than particleboard.
Eco-friendly board: The No.1 building material for home decoration
1. Natural Chinese cedar, more durable: Made from high-quality Chinese cedar wood, it has inherent advantages such as stable moisture content, uniform density, low shrinkage, strong stability, resistance to decay and insects, and strong nail-holding power.
2. E0 grade environmentally friendly, healthier: Using self-produced environmentally friendly glue, which undergoes 120°C CUHST high-temperature purification treatment, the trace amounts of formaldehyde contained in the natural wood are released, allowing the product's formaldehyde content to reach the E0 grade.
3. Low moisture content, more durable: The substrate uses digital drying process, resulting in high bonding strength, strong weather resistance, waterproof and moisture-proof properties, and resistance to deformation. It has a longer service life than ordinary brand ecological boards.
4. Advanced technology, superior quality: Utilizing 360-degree micro-thin wood slicing technology, FCF aldehyde removal treatment technology, surface coloring treatment technology, and synchronous pressing technology for original wood grain surfaces, the products are of higher quality and more durable.
