Home decoration board: Integrated board
Plywood has the advantage of being less prone to deformation during home decoration; it is also a new type of solid wood material, made from high-quality imported large-diameter logs through meticulous processing, with boards spliced together like interlocking fingers. This type of board uses less adhesive during processing, resulting in superior environmental performance-it contains only 1/8 the formaldehyde allowed in blockboard. Naturally, its market price is also relatively high.
Home decoration board material: Medium density board (MDF)
In home decoration, medium-density fiberboard (MDF) has a worse nail-holding ability than particleboard. MDF is made by pressing powdered wood chips into shape, resulting in better flatness, but poorer moisture resistance. MDF has a weaker nail-holding power than particleboard, and if the screws become loose after being tightened, it is difficult to fix them again due to the low strength of MDF. Therefore, it is rarely used as cabinet material.
Home decoration board material: Plywood
These types of boards have good moisture resistance during home decoration, but they cannot be painted directly. The core of the plywood is made of natural wood strips glued together, and the two sides are covered with a very thin wood veneer. It can be used to make furniture, door and door frame coverings, radiator covers, curtain boxes, etc., and has good waterproof performance.
Home decoration board material: Decorative plywood
These types of home decoration boards are quite affordable. The so-called three-ply board or multi-layer board, with different names depending on the number of layers, mainly depends on the raw materials. Currently, the most commonly used plywood in home decoration is veneered three-ply board, which has a very thin layer of solid wood veneer already glued onto it in the factory. Veneered three-ply board is convenient to use and inexpensive, but you must pay attention to its manufacturing process when purchasing. Some manufacturers use inferior adhesives during production.
These are some of the more commonly used building materials in home renovation. Generally speaking, building materials can be classified into two main categories based on material: solid wood boards and engineered wood boards; and based on their form, they can be divided into solid core boards, plywood, fiberboard, veneer boards, fire-resistant boards, etc. These are all commonly used building materials, each with its own specific purpose.
