Generally, boards are made into standard-sized, flat, rectangular building materials. Boards are frequently used in home decoration, but what are their common specifications? In fact, different boards have different specifications. Boards can be broadly classified into the following eight specifications.
I. MDF (Medium-density Fiberboard)
It is made from wood fiber or other plant fibers, with the addition of urea-formaldehyde resin or other suitable adhesives. Standard board sizes are 1220mm x 2440mm x 2mm to 30mm; custom sizes are available upon request.
II. Blockboard
Blockboard, also known as plywood, is made by gluing and pressing two veneers together. It is relatively inexpensive, and while its flexural and compressive strength is poor, its transverse flexural and compressive strength is higher. The overall board dimensions are 2440 mm * 1220 mm, with thicknesses of 3, 5, and 9 cm.
III. Creative Board
Particleboard is divided into two categories: flat particleboard and extruded particleboard. It is a thin board made primarily from wood chips, then mixed with glue and additives. Typical board dimensions are 1220 mm x 2440 mm, with a thickness of 25-45 mm.
IV. Melamine board
Melamine board is a decorative board made by soaking paper of different colors or textures in melamine resin adhesive, drying it to a certain degree, coating it on the surface of medium-density fiberboard, particleboard, or cardboard, and finally pressing and heating it. The overall dimensions of this board are 2440 mm * 1220 mm.
V. Gypsum board
Gypsum board has heat insulation and sound absorption properties. The board specifications are 2400mm*1200mm*9.5mm-123000mm*1200mm*9.5mm-12240mm*1220mm*9.5mm-121800mm*1200mm*9.5mm.
VI. Plywood
Plywood is made by hot-pressing three or more layers of 1 mm thick veneers or sheets, and is most commonly used for home decoration. It comes in six sizes: 3 mm, 5 mm, 9 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm, and 18 mm.
VII. Decorative Panels
Decorative panels are a type of decorative panel with single-sided decorative function. They are made of plywood as the base material and are bonded together. Their thickness is 3 millimeters.
8. Fireproof board
Fireproof boards are decorative panels made primarily of calcareous and siliceous materials, mixed with a certain proportion of lightweight aggregates, fiber materials, chemical additives, and adhesives, and then steam-pressed. The standard thicknesses are 0.8 mm, 1 mm, and 1.2 mm.
