Board knowledge
Q&A Answered!
With the vigorous promotion of green building and green building materials, new building materials are emerging rapidly. Faced with various new types of building materials on the market, it's not enough to simply select materials based on readily available information like brand and certifications; it's also necessary to understand the raw materials and production processes of these new materials to gain a deeper understanding of their performance. How can one quickly and comprehensively understand a new type of building material to select high-quality materials that meet the needs of construction while also reducing costs, increasing efficiency, and improving quality? The following key points will be addressed by Xiaojing.

Product Performance Description
Different materials are produced using different processes, and the differences in raw material formulations result in product names containing keywords related to various chemical elements. This lack of clarity regarding product performance is often misleading, and manufacturers also offer differing explanations for their product specifications. In practical project use, the keywords that are of most concern based on the application scenario are as follows:
nail holding power
Nail-holding power, also known as a board's ability to hold nails, refers to how easily a nail can be secured in the nail hole after it has entered the board, and how easily it can come loose or fall out. When a nail is driven into the board, the wood fibers around the nail are separated, creating pressure on the nail and generating friction that resists the nail. The greater this friction, the less likely the nail is to come loose, and the more secure it is, meaning a stronger nail-holding power. The amount of nail-holding power also depends on the board's density, hardness, elasticity, moisture content, and grain direction. Boards with good nail-holding power generally have higher hardness, strength, and density. Of course, nail-holding power is also related to the manufacturing process of the nail.
Zhongjing Building Materials' substrate series products, despite their ultra-low density of 0.85±0.05kg/m³, boast a nail-holding force of ≥1200N, capable of supporting a single nail weight of 20Kg. Whether suspending televisions, air conditioners, or other household appliances, there's no need to worry about them falling off. They can replace traditional boards as substrates, and their nail-holding force is sufficient to compensate for the limitations of other traditional boards in projects, offering multiple uses and achieving cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
Environmental regulation
The industry trend requires green buildings and green spaces. In architectural design, the concept of green cycle is used to link multiple links to form a space that conforms to the concept of green and sustainable development. In terms of material selection, green, safe and healthy are the basic thresholds. Materials that can help form and maintain green spaces are more popular.
Zhongjing Building Materials' substrate series products are low-density boards with "high moisture absorption and release" characteristics. They effectively regulate indoor humidity and function as eco-friendly boards, preventing condensation from forming on the surface and preserving its structure and function. Whether the project is located in the dry climate of the north, the misty rain of the south, or the spring-like southwest, the wall and ceiling materials can leverage their inherent properties to regulate the environment. While the effects may not be immediately visible, they provide a long-lasting, green, healthy, comfortable, and reassuring space.
Smooth surface
In traditional renovation construction, sanding and leveling are essential steps. Aside from the dust generated during construction, which seriously affects the health of workers, the time and labor required for sanding and leveling alone constitute a significant cost component of the project. In an environment advocating for both improvement and reduction, choosing the right materials can effectively reduce construction steps and increase efficiency, making it an important consideration.
Among Zhongjing Building Materials' substrate series products, the "Jing'an Board" has an extremely high surface flatness, enabling surface coating work without putty (plastering). It allows for direct application of latex paint or wallpaper, effectively reducing construction steps and achieving cost reduction and efficiency improvement for projects.

Product Process Explanation
By curing paint onto inorganic boards, monochrome coated panels are created, opening up new possibilities for wall decoration. Unlike painting or wallpapering, using monochrome coated panels as wall decoration materials not only allows for quick construction and easy assembly but also satisfies the overall design requirements of prefabricated architectural spaces, and is environmentally friendly and healthy. Different surface coating and curing technologies result in different textures on the panels, leading to slight variations in specific performance parameters. Panels from different manufacturers may also exhibit subtle differences in surface gloss.
EB electron beam curing
EB curing technology uses an electron beam as a radiation source to induce a specially formulated 100% solid content material (EB coatings, EB inks, etc.) to rapidly transform into a solid. The earliest international application of this technology was by Ford Motor Company in the United States, which used EB curing technology to treat coatings on automotive parts in the 1970s. In China, around 2004, some printing companies began to introduce EB curing equipment, mainly for applying varnishes. EB curing can effectively reduce carbon dioxide and VOC emissions, making it more environmentally friendly. Its curing process is highly efficient; under the action of the electron beam, the ink undergoes a chain growth reaction, resulting in a shorter curing time, much faster than UV curing. Coatings cured using this technology have a longer-lasting finish. Experimental tests show that the color can last up to 25 years.
Aquatic plant base
In the entire home furnishing industry, the shift from oil-based to water-based coatings is a challenge that the entire industry must face, and it will also be a crucial juncture in the industry's development. Beyond environmental protection, the shift is driven by considerations of efficiency and the industry's ability to adapt to future changes. Based on the demand for a return to nature and green, low-carbon practices, water-based plant-based materials have become a hot topic in the market. After years of implementation and integration, water-based coatings have gained widespread brand recognition in the home furnishing industry and will achieve widespread adoption with technological support.
The "Gauze-like Board" in Zhongjing Building Materials' Crystal Coated Board series is the world's first material to combine water-based plant-based coatings with green inorganic boards. It was jointly developed by Zhongjing Building Materials and chemical industry giant Covestro. The substrate uses a lightweight crystal board as the base material, and the surface layer uses a plant-based water-based coating, applied to the surface of the inorganic board as a single-color decorative panel. The decorative surface layer uses a water-based plant-based resin coating, with extremely low formaldehyde and TVOC emissions, making it non-toxic, odorless, and environmentally friendly. The board surface has a high-end, soft gauze-like feel, a premium texture, and is highly favored by designers; it also has a hydrophobic coating, is fingerprint-resistant, and washable.
