With the rapid development of society, people are paying more and more attention to fire safety. Due to its excellent flame-retardant and fire-resistant properties, flame-retardant boards play an important role in building decoration, especially in densely populated areas such as high-end homes, luxury hotels, large shopping malls, stadiums, schools, hospitals and other public places.
Flame-retardant board, also known as fire-resistant board, flame-retardant plywood, etc., is similar to plywood, but with an additional flame-retardant treatment process. Based on plywood, flame retardants are evenly distributed within the wood material, overcoming the flammability of ordinary plywood and effectively preventing fires.
According to the flame retardancy of flame retardant boards, they can be divided into four grades: Grade A is non-combustible, Grade B1 is flame-retardant, Grade B2 is combustible, and Grade B3 is flammable. Grade B1 flame-retardant boards are the most common on the market.
The market for flame-retardant boards is also rife with counterfeit and substandard products. When choosing flame-retardant boards, one must be very careful, because many boards on the market claim to be flame-retardant boards, or they are only semi-flame-retardant, meaning that flame retardants are only sprayed on the outer surface of the board, which greatly reduces its flame retardancy. Some even do not spray flame retardants at all and are just ordinary multi-layer boards sold as flame-retardant boards.
So how do you distinguish between genuine and fake flame-retardant boards?
The simplest method involves three steps: "look", "touch", and "burn".
1. “Look” Flame retardant boards are generally red. The shade of the color has nothing to do with the flame retardant effect. It is mainly to distinguish them from multi-layer boards and to check the manufacturer’s inspection report.
2. The "touch" selection method is similar to that for plywood. Ensure that the board is free from deformation, wormholes, cracks, and has a smooth and flat surface without any rough edges.
3. "Burning": Cut a small strip with a blade, burn it with a lighter, observe the extinguishing time, and see if there is any smoldering flame. Compare it with a regular board.
The flame-retardant board utilizes advanced technology from a team of flame-retardant experts. It is produced in a fully sealed, high-pressure permeation flame-retardant liquid equipment, ensuring that the flame retardant completely penetrates into the cell cavities, cell walls, and intercellular spaces of the wood, achieving true flame retardancy and reaching the B1 level.
In addition, the flame-retardant board is made from carefully selected high-quality natural wood. Due to its reasonable structure and meticulous workmanship in the production process, it has the characteristics of anti-aging, waterproof, moisture-proof, mildew-proof, anti-corrosion, insect-proof, and termite-proof. The environmental protection level meets the E0 standard, making it a truly environmentally friendly flame-retardant board.
