Home renovation requires a lot of boards. If the boards you buy are "brittle," easily delaminated, warped, or cracked, not only will the finished furniture not last long, but it might not even survive the carpentry stage. Generally speaking, to prevent boards from being too "fragile," it's essential to ensure that the bond strength meets the required standards.
What is bond strength?
There are two main bonding strength indicators for boards: internal bonding strength and surface bonding strength.
▲Both the internal bond strength and surface bond strength of the board meet the standards.
Internal bond strength is one of the main indicators for measuring the physical and chemical properties of board materials. It is also a key point for the quality inspection and control of board products. It can reflect the quality of bonding between fibers inside the board. The higher the value, the better the board’s ability to withstand temperature changes, the higher the bonding quality, and the less likely it is to have problems such as delamination and cracking.
Average density, core layer density, type of adhesive, amount of adhesive applied, hot-pressing temperature, and hot-pressing pressure all have a significant impact on the internal bond strength of the board. Among these factors, increasing the core layer density will directly increase the internal bond strength of the board; increasing the amount of adhesive applied will increase the area of the board covered by the adhesive, thereby strengthening the bonding ability between fibers and improving the internal bond strength of the board.
Surface bond strength reflects the processing and usability of a board product. If this performance is substandard, the board is prone to problems such as structural loosening, delamination, and detachment of decorative surfaces during use. If the surface of the board is rough and has poor uniformity, its surface bond strength will be weaker.
How is Da Wang Ye board made?
01. Optimize the hot pressing process
The three key elements of hot pressing are hot pressing pressure, hot pressing temperature, and hot pressing time. Advanced hot pressing equipment and special material welding heads are used to ensure uniform stress on the sheet material. Precision digital pressure gauges are used to accurately control the hot pressing temperature. Professional personnel assess factors such as the moisture content and density of the sheet material to determine the appropriate hot pressing time. These three measures work together to ensure that the core layer of the sheet material is sufficiently and evenly heated after the hot pressing process, resulting in increased core layer density and higher internal bonding strength.

02. Strictly control the glue application process.
The glue application process is a process that tests experience, eyesight, and hand speed. Professional technicians are assigned to the board and strictly follow the standards required by the process to ensure that "not a single bit of glue is spilled on the board and the position is not off." They maintain sufficient glue application and spread it evenly, so that the area of the board covered by the environmentally friendly adhesive is increased, the bonding ability between the fibers is enhanced, and thus the internal bond strength of the board is improved.
03. Upgrade the sanding process
Upgrading the sanding process for boards, for example, increasing the sanding of a single board surface from two times to three times in the rough sanding process, is to achieve better quality. Multiple sanding treatments on the board surface can remove the pre-cured layer, resulting in a smoother, flatter surface and better surface bonding strength.
