Formaldehyde-free engineered wood products traceability platform
1. Scope of enterprises and products applying for labeling
Manufacturers of wood-based panels and wood-based panel products that have obtained formaldehyde-free certification from Beijing Green Forest Certification Co., Ltd. can apply to the China Forest Products Industry Association for a formaldehyde-free label.
Formaldehyde-free labels can be affixed to formaldehyde-free engineered wood products and their products, such as fiberboard, particleboard, plywood, blockboard, reconstituted decorative materials, laminated veneer lumber, engineered wood products, veneered engineered wood products, wood flooring, wood wall panels, and wood doors.
2. Product traceability and blockchain technology
Blockchain is a decentralized database containing a list of records called blocks, which are continuously growing and neatly arranged. Each block contains a timestamp and a link to the previous block. The design of blockchain makes the data immutable; once recorded, the data in a block is irreversible.
Blockchain technology has the following characteristics:
(1) Disintermediation. Due to the use of distributed computing and storage, there is no centralized hardware or management institution in the system. The rights and obligations of any node are equal, and the data blocks in the system are jointly maintained by the nodes with maintenance functions in the entire system.
(2) Openness. The system is open. Except for the private information of the parties to the transaction being encrypted, the blockchain data is public to everyone. Anyone can query the blockchain data and develop related applications through the public interface. Therefore, the information of the entire system is highly transparent.
(3) Information is immutable. Once information is verified and added to the blockchain, it will be stored permanently, so the data stability and reliability of the blockchain are extremely high.
