Some small design touches to improve home comfort~

It's often said that design makes life better. This isn't without reason. Customized design makes home decoration more human-centered, better suited to our actual needs and lifestyles, and makes overall home life more comfortable.

Here are some small design tips to improve overall home comfort, making coming home and staying at home more pleasant~

LDK Design

What is LDK design? LDK integration usually means that the living room, dining room, and kitchen are located in an open space, forming the core area of the home.

This design greatly improves space utilization, making the most of every inch. Furthermore, the spacious, open-plan space created by this integrated design facilitates daily use and shortens the flow of movement; it also increases communication and interaction among family members, fostering stronger emotional bonds.

Raise the platform

In fact, we've seen many raised platform designs in our previous case study series. These designs cleverly divide the space, creating a natural transition, and are also quite comfortable.

The platform design in the bedroom can replace the bed, reduce hard-to-clean areas, and is also more child-friendly, so you don't have to worry about children with bad sleeping habits rolling off the bed in the middle of the night.

Kitchen countertops

In the past, kitchen cabinets were designed as a single, flat worktop, but those who have used them will find that this design is not in line with our usage habits.

Modern kitchen cabinets often feature a tiered countertop design, where the sink is lower than the countertop for washing, while cooking requires raising your arm. This tiered design effectively reduces back strain; it's recommended that the sink area be about 10cm higher than the stove area.

Short movement lines

The length of the movement path determines the route we need to take. Simply put, it means avoiding detours. This is especially important for housework movement paths. The shorter the movement path for cooking, laundry, and cleaning, the better!

For example, the kitchen workflow we often talk about conforms to the assembly line of "take, wash, cut, cook, and pack"; the "wash and dry" workflow for laundry, etc., shortens the workflow and optimizes the overall function.

Migration routes

Different routes can be taken to reach the destination, avoiding multiple round trips and unnecessary detours. Sometimes it's fine when we're young, but as our parents get older, the design of an inbound route is much more convenient and comfortable for them than a round trip.

Motion sensor light

A kickstand light, also called a night light, is convenient for walking at night. If you're half asleep and have poor eyesight, a kickstand light can help reduce the risk of falls, making it especially suitable for families with elderly people or young children.

In fact, motion-sensor lights can be installed next to sofas, in hallways at night, etc., to facilitate movement and ensure sufficient light source for visibility.

Entryway shoe bench

A shoe-changing stool is an essential option for the elderly. Unlike younger people who can easily bend over and stand up, a shoe-changing stool makes changing shoes much easier.

For larger apartments, a custom-designed shoe-changing bench integrated with a storage cabinet is ideal, offering both aesthetics and practicality. If the entryway is too small for a built-in shoe cabinet, a foldable shoe-changing bench is a good alternative. It can be folded down when needed and stored away when not in use, saving space and making it suitable even for small entryways.

While the mundane routine of daily home life may not offer the promise of poetry and distant horizons, we shouldn't settle for the mundane. A highly comfortable home can reduce negative energy and allow us to say goodbye to countless complaints and bad moods.
