Those with experience in purchasing boards know that there are significant differences in quality, value, quality inspection assurance, and ease of processing between boards using imported and domestic core materials. So, which one is better?
PK wood type material
Domestic core wood: To meet market demand, the logs used for core wood in the domestic market are mainly fir trees, with straight grain, uniform structure, light and soft material, and most of them are small in diameter of 15cm.
Imported core: It mainly uses imported wood as raw material. The wood is hard, not easy to deform, has beautiful patterns, can be used with a larger diameter, has uniform wood density, and has good stability.
#Material stability#
Made from carefully selected high-quality hardwoods, specifically Phoebe zhennan wood from trees at their prime age, with a diameter of at least 30cm and a wood density of up to 500kg/m³, ensuring better stability and flatness of the boards.
PK Raw Material Grading
Domestic core board: Made from domestic logs, and graded according to national standards based on the defects of domestic logs. They are usually divided into first, second, third and fourth grades.
Imported core board: It mainly uses imported wood as raw material. Countries that frequently export wood have very complete grading standards for wood, and they clearly distinguish which grade allows for holes/missing edges/rot/warping, etc.
Nanmu
#Imported Grade A Products#
Made with imported logs from Indonesia, it is classified as a first-class product, with top-notch quality in terms of board surface, material, moisture content, and glue strength.
PK Raw Material Value
Domestic core boards: The raw materials used are mostly medium and low grade woods that can be planted on a large scale with a high survival rate. Because precious woods in China are protected species, and large areas of forests are prohibited from commercial logging, high grade woods are rarely found in domestic core boards.
Imported core board: The raw materials used are mostly high-grade wood, because foreign countries have well-established large-scale planting and management systems and abundant forest resources for export.

#Precious Wood Species#
The raw material is a type of precious wood called Huangliang wood. Its properties and appearance are similar to gemstones, hence the name "gemstone tree". When made into core panels, it possesses the superior properties of the original wood, such as high flatness, low deformation coefficient, and high-end and elegant texture.
PK processing stage
Domestic core board: In order to quickly supply the market demand, many ordinary domestic core board manufacturers use whole pieces of square wood to slice and then dry them at high temperature for 24 hours. This causes the raw material slices to come into contact with and absorb water molecules in the air during the cooling stage, which easily leads to moisture reabsorption.
Imported core board: refers to imported timber that has been processed into core board semi-finished products abroad and then imported into China. While ensuring the performance of the wood species, it is also necessary to ensure that the processing flow from log to core board is complete so that the final product can pass customs quality inspection. Therefore, there are certain requirements for the processing technology.

#Unique Drying Process#
Da Wang Ye has an overseas sourcing base where it selects the best material structure of Nanmu wood. Using a unique cutting method, an extra-large standard drying room, and a unique overseas drying process, the logs are dried at low temperature for up to 10 days to ensure that the core of the board has a uniform moisture content and is less prone to problems such as dampness, cracking, and warping.
PK Quality Inspection System
Domestic core board: Generally, the finished board made is inspected for factory inspection according to the national recommended standards. Different products are inspected for factory inspection according to different standards.
Imported core panels: The core panels meet the production quality and environmental protection requirements of the country or region of origin, and also have secondary guarantees from my country's animal and plant quarantine inspection, customs inspection, and environmental protection inspection.
Nanmu
#Multiple Quality Inspections#
Da Wang Ye's imported Nanmu wood cores undergo rigorous testing by my country's animal and plant quarantine authorities, customs, and environmental protection authorities upon import, and are classified as Grade A. Upon entering the factory, they undergo strict testing to ensure the core thickness and moisture content meet requirements. Finished products also undergo factory inspection according to national standards before leaving the factory, guaranteeing high quality in all aspects.
