OSB stands for Oriented Strand Board, also known as OSB or Oriented Particleboard. It is a type of oriented structural board made from small-diameter timber, thinnings, and wood cores. These are processed into shavings (typically 40-100mm long, 5-20mm wide, and 0.3-0.7mm thick) using specialized equipment, and then subjected to processes such as degreasing, drying, gluing, oriented laying, and hot pressing.

Its surface shavings are arranged longitudinally, while the core shavings are arranged transversely. This crisscrossing arrangement restructures the wood grain, eliminates the influence of internal stress on processing, and gives it exceptional workability and moisture resistance. Because OSB has an oriented structure, it is jointless, seamless, and crack-free, with excellent overall uniformity and extremely high internal bonding strength. Therefore, it has nail-holding power that ordinary boards cannot match, whether in the center or at the edges.
