Bedside tables are one of the most common pieces of furniture in bedrooms, and most are floor-standing. However, in smaller bedrooms, there's often a problem of not having enough space for a bedside table after installation.

Actually, the traditional floor-standing bedside table isn't the only option. Bedside tables can come in many styles:

◆ Integrating the bedside table with the headboard

The bedside table material matches the headboard, creating a unified and aesthetically pleasing look. It can be floating or floor-standing, with drawers added in some areas,

to meet storage needs.

Compared to floor-standing bedside tables, floating bedside tables have a simpler design, a higher aesthetic appeal, and are easier to clean. However, pay attention to the weight-bearing capacity of the cabinet during installation. To enhance the ambiance, you can embed LED strips in the headboard; for added comfort, you can customize a cushioned backrest.

If there's no space for a bedside table, you can utilize the headboard as part of the bedside table function, or leave the middle of the headboard open to place frequently used items – space-saving and easily accessible.

◆ Combining Bedside Tables and Wardrobes

Many bedrooms have wardrobes placed beside the bed. If there's no space for a bedside table, you can extend a shelf from the wardrobe to replace it. It's recommended that the bedside table be a few centimeters lower than the mattress and have rounded corners for easier access and to prevent bumps.

Alternatively, the side of the wardrobe facing the head of the bed can be recessed in the middle to create a countertop and drawers. This provides ample storage without taking up much space, making it ideal for small bedrooms.

◆ Combining Bedside Tables and Desks

For bedrooms without a separate study, consider combining bedside tables and desks to create a reading area. This combines the functions of a bedside table and a desk. Adding a mirror to the wall in front of the desk can even double as a dressing table.

◆ Combining Bay Windows and Bedside Tables

If the bed is near a bay window, you can extend a countertop from the window to replace a bedside table, or customize drawers in the bay window to provide convenient storage for small items, making the most of the space.
