Many families encounter frustrating situations during home renovation: they don't understand materials, don't know how to choose patterns, and are unfamiliar with technical terms... For example: UV film? PET film? PP film? Have you heard of these?
If you're currently renovating or planning to renovate and don't know what these three terms mean, pay attention! These three different terms represent three different finish materials, and the corresponding product properties also differ.
Today, Zhoubao will explain the meaning behind these terms to help you avoid making mistakes when choosing materials for your home renovation!
01. What is “UV”?
When it comes to UV, internet users immediately think of visitor traffic, while those who prioritize sun protection would say ultraviolet rays. However, in the building materials and home furnishing industry, UV film is a coating that can upgrade board products. Boards with UV-treated surfaces offer a variety of colors, a long service life, and are wear-resistant, easy to clean, and resistant to discoloration.
Furniture UV Ecological Board
The recently launched furniture UV eco-board uses environmentally friendly base material, then selects colored melamine paper to laminate it and processes it with UV light curing technology to add a protective film to the surface of the eco-board.
02. What is “PET”?
Note that PET here is not pet (pet image). PET film is an environmentally friendly new type of polymer material, often used in food and beverage packaging. It performs well in terms of optical properties and film-forming properties, and is healthy and safe, and is widely used in various fields.
PET Platinum Crystal Board
PET platinum crystal board uses formaldehyde-free, high-strength board as the base material and is laminated with imported PET flat film. It features high environmental protection, colorfastness, high strength, and easy cleaning, and can be used in products such as cabinets, wardrobe doors, and wall panels.
03. What is “PP”?
PP film is a type of polypropylene film, a thermoplastic resin made by polymerizing propylene. It is typically thicker, tougher, and has higher tensile strength. For sheet products, using PP film can improve the heat resistance and extend the lifespan of the sheets. In home decoration, PP film is widely favored due to its lightweight, electrical insulation, and non-toxic properties.
04. How to choose among the three materials?
Different materials, but the same health and environmental friendliness. For living room decoration, we recommend UV eco-boards for furniture; for wardrobes, balcony cabinets, wall panels, etc., we recommend PET platinum crystal boards, which better reflect the quality of home decoration; for kitchens and other areas where heat resistance is a concern, PP film-faced boards are also a good choice! Whether it's UV film, PET film, or PP film, just choose according to your own needs during the decoration process!
