1. Look at the material of the board
The method of judgment is to look at the cross-section of the board. The fine fibers in the density board are tightly combined together, with high density, high glue content and low environmental protection factor; while the particle board is composed of small particles of logs, with intricate and cross-organization structure, strong nail holding force and long service life.
2. Look at the board base material
As long as the free formaldehyde content in the board is ≤0.5mg/L, it meets the E0 environmental protection standard. E0 is the highest environmental protection grade for ecological board materials currently specified by national standards and relevant testing, and is harmless to human health. Another advantage of ecological board over other boards is that it requires no paint. The benefit of not needing to apply paint is that it reduces the emission of toxic and harmful substances caused by paint, making it more environmentally friendly.
3. Look at the board veneer
Some custom wardrobes may appear fine on the surface, but a light scratch with a fingernail can leave noticeable marks. These wardrobes are made with polyvinyl or ornate paper-coated panels, often found in low-priced wardrobes on the market, which have poor wear resistance. High-quality custom wardrobes typically use thick, varnished, environmentally friendly melamine veneer panels that have been treated with high temperature and pressure, resulting in a strong, wear-resistant, and scratch-resistant surface.
4. Check the edge banding of the board
High-quality custom wardrobes use precision saws to cut the panels, ensuring no chipping around the edges. Sealing the edges effectively prevents moisture from entering the panels. Some manufacturers lack professional equipment and produce rough, chipped panels. Some even cut corners by sealing only the front edge. Unsealed panels absorb moisture, causing the panels to swell and warp, shortening the wardrobe's lifespan.
5. Check the thickness of the board
The standard cabinet body panel thickness is 18 mm, but some manufacturers generally use panels with a thickness of 16 mm in order to reduce costs, but call it 18 mm to consumers. Therefore, everyone should pay attention.
