This achievement has made a breakthrough in the physical compression enhancement and modification technology of wood, and innovatively developed the controllable layered compression of low-density wood.

The position and thickness of the compression layer can be controlled

Using this technology, the surface or any middle layer of low-density wood that needs to be strengthened can be selectively compressed and strengthened according to the requirements of wood product processing and use, while the remaining parts are not compressed, thus achieving precise control of wood compression reinforcement.

Solid wood layered compression technology mainly solves three technical problems: precise control of the position of the compression layer, precise control of the thickness of the compression layer, and fixation of compression deformation.

Low compression rate and less volume loss

The compression rate can be reduced to below 20%, effectively reducing the volume loss caused by compression and densification. In terms of large-scale production, a continuous production method for layered compressed wood and suitable production equipment have been developed, resulting in a low-cost production process and solving the cost problem of large-scale production.

Compressed wood significantly enhances performance

Regardless of whether the compression layer is located on the surface or in the middle, the density of the compression layer can reach over 0.8g/cm³. For poplar surface compression wood, the density of the compression layer can reach over 1.8 times that of the control material, and the hardness can reach over 2.4 times that of the control material. The wood's moisture absorption rebound rate is reduced to 1.34%. Compared with the original material, the tangential dimensional stability under high temperature and high humidity conditions is improved by over 46%, and the dimensional stability under high temperature and low humidity environments is improved by over 80%.

Wide range of applicable materials

Solid wood layered compression technology is applicable to a wide range of wood species. After process adjustments, it can be applied to most coniferous and hardwood species. By utilizing the unique color and texture characteristics of different wood species, a wide variety of products can be produced to meet the diverse needs of consumers.
