Preface
Each type of board on the market has a variety of names and introductions, which makes people dizzy and difficult to distinguish. Next, I will make an inventory and comparison for everyone. Remember to like and collect it~
A fiberboard
Two plywood
Three particle boards
Four blockboard
01\ Fiberboard
Also known as density board or density fiberboard, it is a board made from pressed wood fibers. Medium-density fiberboard is commonly used in the market. Its advantages are affordability and a smooth finish, but it suffers from poor moisture resistance, poor nail holding power, and low strength. Furthermore, due to the large amount of glue used in its production, it contains a high formaldehyde content.
02\ Plywood
Also known as multi-layer board, laminated board, and commonly referred to as three-ply board and five-ply board, plywood is also a type of board. Plywood is made by gluing single sheets or thin wood together with adhesive. The number of single sheets is usually an odd number. Plywood's advantages lie in its high strength, strong bending resistance, relatively low glue usage, and relatively low formaldehyde content. However, its surface finish is poor, making it unsuitable for single-sided applications such as cabinet and wardrobe panels.
03\ Particleboard
Particle board, also known as particle board, is a man-made board made by pressing wood chips through a series of processes. Commonly found European pine board, OSB board, and high-energy home board (LSB board) are also examples of particle board. Particle board has excellent sound absorption and insulation properties, providing excellent insulation and sound absorption. However, its loose structure makes it prone to deformation and cracking, and it also contains relatively high formaldehyde content.
04\ Blockboard
Also known as core board in the market, blockboard refers to a man-made board made from wooden strips spliced together, covered on both sides with plywood, and then glued together. Blockboard offers good screw retention, high strength, and relatively low formaldehyde content, but has low single-axis bending strength and a rough surface.
