Blockboard is a common board used in interior decoration and furniture making. So how do you choose a high-quality blockboard? Today, I will share with you some tips on how to choose one.
1 look
1. Check whether the surface plate is smooth and flat, without defects. Check from the side whether the thickness of the core is uniform, and whether there is any overlap or separation of the core;
2. Look at the price. Don’t be tempted by cheapness when purchasing. It is recommended to choose brand products that have a certain degree of popularity and are recognized by various national authoritative departments.
2 Listen
Place the blockboard on the ground and tap on different parts with your hands or other blunt objects. If the sound is relatively uniform, it indicates that the quality is acceptable. If the sound varies greatly, it means that there are certain quality problems and there may be holes inside.
3 touch
Touch the surface of the blockboard with your hand. High-quality blockboard should feel dry, flat and smooth, with no waves when touched horizontally, indicating low moisture content and good flatness.
4 smell
Smell it. If the plywood emits the fragrance of the wood itself, it means the formaldehyde content is low. If the smell is pungent, it means the formaldehyde content is high.
5 saws
If conditions permit, you can saw the board open and observe its interior to see whether the texture of the board is dense, whether there are obvious gaps and rotten and deteriorated wood strips. Rotten wood strips may contain insect eggs, which may make it easy for insects to eat them in the future.
6 Check
Check the various identifications of the product, such as whether it is produced by a regular manufacturer, the factory certificate, the production address, the after-sales service phone number, the anti-counterfeiting mark, the environmental mark, the formaldehyde release time and the bonding strength value, etc.
Of course, you don’t have to be so troublesome. The editor recommends environmentally friendly plywood for you!
