Furniture made from boards with good nail holding strength is less likely to loosen, fall out, crack, make unusual noises, or deform. Nail holding strength depends on the wood type, moisture content, density, hardness, elasticity, grain direction, nail shape, wood contact surface area, and production process.
5. Board appearance
High-quality boards should have fine and uniform material, beautiful wood grain, no delamination, no bulging or stratification. In addition, the surface should be smooth and free of obvious defects, such as burrs, cracks, knots, skin inclusions, resin pockets, planing knife marks, gaps and wormholes, glue penetration and board surface pollution.
