Ten characteristics of Shunxin board, what is the difference between Shunxin board and OSB and particle board

1. What is the difference between Shunxin board, OSB and particle board?

OSB translates to "oriented strand board" in Chinese. Canadian OSB is made from trembling aspen, while the German OSB imported by Beijing New Industry Group is made from pine. Shunxin board is essentially Canadian OSB made from Canadian trembling aspen. Particleboard is made from wood waste and sawdust from various wood species.

2. Are Shunxin board and OSB the same type of products?

OSB is a registered trademark of my country's Beixin Group for OSB imported from various countries around the world. OSB is mostly imported pine OSB, as its name suggests. OSB is reportedly still primarily E1 environmentally friendly, while CFRP is formaldehyde-free. Furthermore, OSB is not a product specifically developed for China, while CFRP was developed by Tubaobao and NORBORD specifically for the Chinese market, with improvements for applications such as decorative veneers, wardrobes, and furniture.

3. Why is this new product called Shunxin Board?

This product consists of four layers, three of which are directional. The two middle core layers are oriented in the same direction, resulting in a more stable structure, hence the name "Shunxin Board." Density fiberboard and particleboard lack this feature. Shunxin Board also differs from ordinary boards in that it is a structural material with uniform density inside and out. Previously, structural materials were not typically used for decorative purposes in the home decor industry. However, the introduction of Shunxin Board, a structural material, into the decorating industry offers a better alternative to blockboard and plywood in terms of both functionality and decorative effects, making it more user-friendly, hence the name "Shunxin Board."

4. Why is it said that the Shunxin board produced in Canada has more advantages than domestic ones?

Purely mechanized production processes require a high level of technical expertise. After decades of development, Europe and the United States have developed mature production technologies and established a comprehensive system of patented technologies. However, most current domestic OSB production lines utilize outdated technology from the 1970s and 1980s, resulting in subpar product quality. Even those that have introduced advanced production equipment still struggle to match the quality of imported products. Without long-term technological accumulation, it's impossible to produce a perfect product. As a leading domestic forest products company, we possess significant technical expertise to enable us to collaborate closely with NORBORD and the Alberta Institute and share technology.

5. Why not produce Shunxin boards domestically?

As a product requiring large-scale mechanized production, Suncore board requires significant investment. A full-scale Suncore board factory typically requires an investment of over 400 million yuan, and profitability is impossible without reaching a certain production capacity. As you've seen, the production capacity and scale of our partner, NORBORD, are rare in China. Currently, OSB and Suncore board are still in their infancy in China, and with mature production capacity already available abroad, investing in a factory isn't necessary.

6. Are the raw materials of Shunxin board unique?

The raw material for Suncore board comes from the cold, pristine forests of Canada, where the forests are entirely poplar trees. The wood is hard and dense, superior to other pine and poplar hybrids, and fundamentally different from the fast-growing poplars planted in China. Suncore board is made from native Canadian trembling poplars, aged between 80 and 120 years. These large-diameter wood, with a diameter of over 50cm, is firm and dense, and the planing lengths range from 3 to 8cm.

7. Why can Canada produce core boards with large quantities of original local trembling poplar?

Limited forest resources fundamentally constrain the development of the domestic core board industry. While core board boasts a high wood utilization rate, its concentrated and massive production capacity creates a significant demand for raw materials. Domestically, there simply isn't enough high-quality poplar wood available. All of the natural poplar wood used in core board is certified by the PEFC (Peking Forest Council) Forest Certification (PEFC), a more stringent certification than the FSC. This ensures environmental protection from the source, safeguarding the continued health of our environment.

8. Why can Shunxin board have various shapes?

Shunxin board is a four-layer structure with three directional layers arranged in a crisscross pattern. This restructured structure eliminates internal stresses in the wood, leaving no joints or gaps, resulting in exceptional symmetry. It exhibits excellent mechanical properties in both the longitudinal and transverse directions. When used as bulkheads in furniture or cabinets, it eliminates the warping and deformation that can occur with other types of board (blockboard, multilayer board, MDF, etc.). Shunxin board is made from natural Canadian wood and offers strong nail holding properties. More importantly, it offers exceptional nail holding strength on all 360° surfaces. With no internal gaps or voids, its structure is airtight and uniform, even the sides of the board retain exceptional nail holding properties.

9. What is the highest environmental protection standard that Shunxin board can reach?

Shunxin board is manufactured using the same grade of PMDI formaldehyde-free glue used in Louis Vuitton and Gucci luggage, giving it the luxury treatment it deserves. Even the formaldehyde contained in the poplar wood itself is released during the production process. Shunxin board emits no free formaldehyde, and actual testing using the desiccant method by the Technical Research Institute has confirmed it meets formaldehyde-free standards. Homes decorated with Shunxin board are free of odor and irritation.

10. Why is Shunxin board superior in earthquake resistance and impact resistance?

The toughness of the core board is very good, and it can effectively resist earthquakes and shocks. When an earthquake occurs, the core board can reduce the huge impact force by relying on its superior mechanical properties and good impact resistance.

Note: This product is mainly used as a decorative furniture building material and should not be used as a structural building material unless it is customized.
