Sheet rings are not environmentally friendly, just look at the glue!

How do you determine whether a board is environmentally friendly? Whether a board is environmentally friendly or not mainly depends on the glue.

As the saying goes: "No glue, no board". The glue here refers to what we call board adhesive. It not only has the functions of bonding, ensuring the wettability of the board, balancing the pH value of the board, and enhancing the firmness of the board, but it is also the fundamental factor in whether the board is environmentally friendly!

Traditional adhesives

Inferior board materials mainly use urea-formaldehyde resin, phenol-formaldehyde resin, melamine-formaldehyde resin and other glues containing large amounts of formaldehyde as adhesives for the boards. Take urea-formaldehyde resin as an example: urea-formaldehyde glue is synthesized by the condensation of urea and formaldehyde (1:1.5). A board made of urea-formaldehyde glue requires 1kg of formaldehyde to synthesize. Just a set of wardrobes (about 6 boards) requires 6kg of formaldehyde, which is a shocking amount!

Formaldehyde, a carcinogen and teratogen designated by the World Health Organization, not only causes severe damage to the human skin, respiratory system, digestive system, and immune system, but can also induce gene mutations and cause cancer. Furthermore, the formaldehyde in these adhesives is released slowly and over a long period, lasting for 3-15 years. Living in such an environment for a long time poses a serious threat to the health of family members and children, not to mention creating a healthy and safe home environment.

MDI formaldehyde-free adhesive

Of course, not all glues contain formaldehyde, such as MDI formaldehyde-free ecological glue

MDI is a formaldehyde-free, safe, stable and high-strength polymer. It has been used in aircraft interiors, refrigerator liners, and even in the medical field with high safety requirements, where it is implanted in heart valves and artificial blood vessels. It is safe and reliable.

Currently, only four countries in the world (China, Germany, the United States, and Japan) can produce MDI. (On March 9, 2021, my country released GB/T 39600-2021, "Classification of Formaldehyde Emissions from Wood-Based Panels and Their Products," which specifies that the ENF formaldehyde-free grade has a formaldehyde emission limit of ≤0.025mg/m³.)
