The knowledge I want to share with you today is the basic knowledge about blockboard. If you learn a little bit every day, you will be an expert in the building materials industry.

Blockboard definition

Blockboard: A man-made board with a core made of wood strips along the grain direction and veneer or plywood glued together on both sides.

name

It is named after the main tree species of the board core and panel and the product function. For example, the plywood with the core of fir, the panel of elm and insect-proof function is called fir core elm insect-proof plywood.

the term

Surface board: The veneer used as the outermost layer of the blockboard, divided into the front panel and the back panel.

Core: A panel made up of wood strips arranged along the grain.

Core board (middle board): A single board with the wood grain direction perpendicular to the length direction of the core wood strips.

Core strip: The solid wood strip that makes up the core of the board.

Glued-jointed blockboard: a blockboard whose side joints between core strips are bonded with adhesive.

Non-glue-jointed blockboard: blockboard in which the side joints between the core strips are not bonded with adhesive.

Core strip side gap: the gap between two adjacent core strips in the width direction of the board core.

Core strip end face gap: the gap between the end faces of two adjacent core strips in the length direction of the board core.

Corrugation: Regular uneven defects appearing on the surface of blockboard.

Formaldehyde-free blockboard: blockboard that uses adhesives without added formaldehyde, or blockboard with formaldehyde emission less than 0.3mg/L.

Insect-proof blockboard: a blockboard with insect-proof properties made by veneer treatment or adhesive mixing.

Classification

According to the splicing condition of the board core: glued blockboard, non-glued blockboard;

According to the surface processing conditions: single-sided sanded blockboard, double-sided sanded blockboard, non-sanded blockboard;

According to the number of layers: three-layer blockboard, five-layer blockboard, multi-layer blockboard;

According to the formaldehyde emission level: E1 blockboard, E0 blockboard, formaldehyde-free blockboard;

According to function: ordinary blockboard, insect-proof blockboard.

Transportation and storage

The products should be stacked flat during transportation and storage to prevent them from being contaminated, damp, rained and exposed to the sun.

During storage, the materials should be stacked according to formaldehyde emission level, specification, grade and production time, and each pile should be marked accordingly.

Application of Blockboard

1. 120 mm, 150 mm: These are thin plates, usually used as the back panels of cabinets, and are used in relatively small quantities.

2. 165 mm and 170 mm: Mainly used as the panels and side panels of beds, cabinets, bookcases, computer tables, and desks in furniture. They are relatively widely used and have the largest usage.

3. 175 mm, 180 mm: thicker, generally used to make wooden doors, etc.
