The new national standard has higher requirements
With the promulgation and implementation of the new national standard, formaldehyde emissions from indoor wood-based panels and their products are strictly categorized into three levels based on limit values: E1 (≤0.124mg/m³), E0 (≤0.050mg/m³), and ENF (≤0.025mg/m³). Currently, the new national standard, ENF, has become the most stringent environmental rating for the global wood-based panel industry, with formaldehyde emission limits exceeding those set in Europe, the United States, and Japan.

The majority of formaldehyde in wood-based panels comes from the added adhesives. The "formaldehyde-free" panels marketed as "formaldehyde-free" refer to panels made with adhesives that don't contain added formaldehyde. The introduction of the new ENF national standard has undoubtedly raised the environmental protection ceiling for China's wood-based panel industry. It also spurs major brands to research and develop and upgrade the quality of their wood-based panel products, ensuring consumers enjoy green home building materials with higher environmental ratings and superior quality.
