The construction of large-scale projects is inseparable from the use of various materials, and flame-retardant panels, as an important building material, are widely used in large-scale projects. Why do large-scale projects always use flame-retardant panels?
1. Enhance building safety - B1 flame retardant
Flame-retardant panels are highly flame-retardant and can effectively prevent the spread of fire, thereby reducing the possibility of fire.
The new flame-retardant OSB board achieves B1-level flame retardancy and exhibits excellent flame retardancy. When heated, the microcapsules on the chip surface rupture, absorbing heat and releasing highly effective flame retardant factors that dilute the concentration of combustibles in the burning area, effectively suppressing the spread of flame. Once the microcapsules rupture, carbonized and salted products coat the chip surface, preventing smoke from escaping, achieving both flame retardancy and smoke suppression.
In large-scale projects, the safety performance of the building is the primary consideration. The use of flame-retardant panels can significantly improve the safety performance of the building.
What is B1 flame retardant?
In the national standard, the combustion performance levels of building materials and products are divided into four grades:
Class A non-combustible materials: materials that hardly burn.
B1 flame retardant material: has good flame retardancy. It is difficult to catch fire, spreads slowly, and stops burning after the fire source is removed.
Class B2 flammable materials: These materials will ignite and burn immediately when exposed to open flames or high temperatures, potentially causing the fire to spread. Examples include common wooden products, which are easily flammable and pose a significant risk.
B3 flammable materials: extremely flammable and pose a great fire risk.
2. Better stability – anti-loss
The most prominent feature of the new flame-retardant OSB board is its stable performance. The microcapsule coating technology is used to effectively enhance the interfacial compatibility between the flame retardant and the shavings, thereby increasing the grafting rate of the flame retardant on the shaving surface. The flame retardant will not precipitate in a humid environment, thereby enhancing the flame retardant's resistance to loss.
Laboratory testing showed that no flame retardant was released from the flame-retardant OSB board after it was placed in a humid environment at 25°C and 85% humidity for 28 days.
3. Improving the quality of engineering projects – corrosion resistance
The new flame-retardant OSB board is combined with microcapsule coating technology to form a coating effect on the effective body of the flame retardant, isolating the contact between the flame retardant and metal parts, effectively reducing the corrosion effect of the flame retardant on metal parts, comprehensively improving the corrosion resistance of the board, and enhancing the service life and stability of the building.
4. Improve living environment, ENF level health and environmental protection
The biggest concern is formaldehyde exceeding the standard, which harms the health of oneself and one's family. Environmentally friendly panels have become the first choice for people to decorate their new homes or improve their living environment.
The new flame-retardant OSB uses zero-formaldehyde-added MDI glue, reaching the highest national formaldehyde emission standard of ENF level. Therefore, it can not only effectively protect people's lives and property safety, but also be beneficial to environmental health.
The new generation of flame-retardant OSB board is made of imported pine planed into sheets with upgraded corrosion resistance. It is an environmentally friendly board with high flame retardancy, corrosion resistance, moisture resistance and stable performance.
In view of the advantages mentioned above, in large-scale construction projects, the use of flame-retardant OSB boards can build the first line of defense for life safety in the event of a fire, safeguarding the life and property safety of you and your family.
