What is the processing technology of blockboard?
Handmade boards are made by manually inserting wood strips into the interlayer. These boards have poor nail holding power and large gaps, making them unsuitable for sawing. They are generally only used as a whole sheet in small areas of home renovations, such as underlayment in solid wood floors. Machine-made boards are far superior to handmade boards. Blockboard manufactured by major brands has a dense texture and a strong interlayer of wood species, making it suitable for various types of furniture, doors, windows, and other fine wood finishes.
What is the environmental performance of different boards?
Blockboard is classified into two environmental ratings: E0 and E1. If the core board emits a pleasant wood odor, it indicates low formaldehyde emissions; otherwise, it exceeds the standard. Environmental indicators: Core boards are made of glue, which primarily contains formaldehyde, and its content must be below 0.5mg/L.
If a wood board marked as 1.8mm thick actually reaches 1.8mm, it can basically be concluded that it is a good board. Most of the boards on the domestic market do not meet the thickness standards. The better 1.8mm boards are 1.7mm, and the inferior ones are only 1.6 or even less than 1.6.
