The quality of the cabinet can be felt from the edge of the board

The quality of the panel edge banding determines the lifespan of a cabinet. Well-made, strictly edge-banded panels not only enhance the cabinet's aesthetics and feel, but also effectively control formaldehyde emissions, prevent moisture intrusion, and strengthen the panel. An expert can easily tell the quality of a cabinet's craftsmanship by simply touching the edge banding.

Edge banding is a manufacturing process, and the quality of the process depends crucially on the machinery and equipment. A good edge banding machine, such as the Italian Biesse edge banding machine used in cabinets, can be worth tens of millions. It features preheating, anti-sticking agent spraying, horizontal cutting, and cleaning fluid spraying, among other features not found on similar equipment from other brands. It produces a more refined, clean, and aesthetically pleasing edge banding, with a smooth feel along the board edges. The arc tracking system utilizes two motors for a seamless process, along with a quick-change system for the glue cylinders, a Teflon non-stick coating on the inside of the cylinders, and an edge tape exhaustion alarm.

Small workshop-style edge banding methods first apply glue with a brush, then manually press and seal the edges, and finally trim with a utility knife and polish with a manual polisher. This produces uneven edges on panels that are prone to debonding and peeling in a short period of time. Once the edge banding peels off, water can enter and cause expansion. Large amounts of toxic gases such as formaldehyde are released into the air, which can easily deform and damage the panels.

The imported PUR hot-melt adhesive used for cabinet panel edge banding creates a seamless seam between the edge banding tape and the adhesive line, perfectly bonding the edge of the edge band to the panel, seamlessly integrating with the panel. PUR hot-melt adhesive itself contains no formaldehyde, and its strong adhesive strength effectively prevents the release of inherent free formaldehyde in the panel. Because the adhesive is irreversible in contact with air, it will not debond even after prolonged immersion in water. PUR is a moisture-reactive hot-melt adhesive that cures irreversibly, even in humid environments. Water only strengthens its adhesion, and it will not melt even when heated. This makes PUR more resistant to water, corrosion, and both high and low temperatures.

Even with good edge sealing equipment and edge sealing glue, the edges must be fully sealed. Otherwise, the cross-section of the board will easily expand and deform after getting wet, and harmful substances such as formaldehyde will easily evaporate from here.

All the cutting materials of the cabinets are fully edge-sealed, including the invisible corners such as the drawer bottoms, which also adopt the full edge-sealing technology. This not only ensures the beauty and moisture-proofness of the product, but also reduces formaldehyde release and increases the service life of the product.
