Most people spend at least one-third of their time at home. An environmentally friendly, healthy, and warm home can greatly enhance one's sense of happiness.
Boards are widely used in home decoration, and formaldehyde, as the number one killer of health, is hidden in the boards. Whether it is density board, particle board or composite board, amino resin adhesive (formaldehyde + urea), that is, glue, is required.
Formaldehyde is released slowly over time, and the higher the temperature, the more it releases...According to surveys, some boards continue to release formaldehyde after ten or twenty years of use.
Understand the formaldehyde content in different boards so that you don’t fall into the “formaldehyde trap” during decoration.
Ranking of formaldehyde content in boards
First place, density board
Density board, also known as fiberboard, is a man-made board made by pressing wood chips or other plant fibers with a large amount of urea-formaldehyde resin or other adhesives under a certain temperature and pressure.
According to different densities, it can be divided into: high-density board, medium-density board and low-density board.
The dense board is soft, impact-resistant and easy to reprocess.
However, because density board uses the most glue, the formaldehyde content in the board is the highest.
Second place: Blockboard
Blockboard, commonly known as core board, is a man-made board made by gluing two layers of plywood with a small piece of wood in the middle with adhesive. The middle layer is made of natural wood strips and veneer is glued on both sides.
Its vertical bending strength (distinguished from the direction of the core plate) is poor, while its transverse bending strength is high.
Most of the boards on the market are solid, glued, double-sided sanded, five-layer plywood, which is one of the most commonly used boards in home decoration.
Third place: Plywood
Plywood, also known as multi-layer solid wood plywood, is made by cutting logs into veneers or thin wood, arranging them crosswise as the core, and then veneering solid wood or high-tech wood. Three or more layers are then glued together with adhesives, and the boards are made through several processes such as cold pressing, hot pressing, sanding, and curing.
Multi-layer solid wood boards are not easy to deform, have strong ability to regulate indoor temperature and humidity, and have real and natural wood texture and touch, so they are very popular among consumers.
Fourth place: multi-layer finger-jointed board
Multi-layer finger-jointed boards are suitable for furniture, cabinets, wardrobes, etc.
"Finger joints" use a lot of adhesives, most of which are exposed to the air, and formaldehyde is more volatile.
Fifth place: solid wood finger-jointed board
Finger-jointed boards, also called integrated boards, are made by splicing together small pieces of deeply processed solid wood. The wooden boards use serrated joints, similar to the cross-jointing between fingers, hence the name.
It is coated on the urea-formaldehyde resin adhesive on the tooth surface and then fixed by extrusion. It is the main source of formaldehyde pollution in solid wood furniture.
Many consumers believe that solid wood furniture is healthy and harmless. In fact, this is not the case. Most of the solid wood furniture on the market is made of spliced together solid wood. The glue and other adhesives used in splicing contain formaldehyde, which makes it difficult to guarantee that it is non-toxic and formaldehyde-free!
Formaldehyde-free water-based Ketian board
Formaldehyde pollution has long been a matter of great concern to the public, as it poses significant health risks. It can cause allergic dermatitis, respiratory damage, and even asthma, and can produce carcinogens. In severe cases, it can even lead to leukemia and fetal malformations.
The choice of board materials becomes particularly important. Formaldehyde-free boards are responsible for the health of yourself and your family!
With the mature application of water-based polymer technology, formaldehyde-free glue and formaldehyde-free board technology, Shuixing Ketian has successfully created core products such as formaldehyde-free ecological boards, formaldehyde-free particle boards, KT high-polymer ecological boards and non-toxic customized boards, realizing formaldehyde-free, non-toxic and industrialized production and application of the entire series of artificial boards, and has become a high-quality supplier of formaldehyde-free boards, formaldehyde-free flooring, non-toxic home improvement materials and furniture materials in China.
It can provide comprehensive, efficient and non-toxic support for whole-house customization, and provide consumers with a non-toxic and odorless home environment that is ready to move in.
