Since November, northern my country has fully entered the winter heating period. During this period, when using eco-friendly boards to make furniture, you must pay attention to the following points to avoid unnecessary losses. Please read carefully. 1. The structure of the ecological board is a solid wood core veneer board, which has the characteristics of thermal expansion and contraction of solid wood boards. Therefore, during construction in winter, attention should be paid to keeping the moisture content in the air at the construction site between 8% and 12%. The temperature at the construction site cannot be higher than 20°C. Because the environment is dry in winter, coupled with continuous heating, attention must be paid to ventilation and moisturizing.
2. Due to climatic reasons, ecological boards will inevitably crack due to moisture loss. For your warm and beautiful home decoration, please maintain a suitable temperature and humidity in the ambient air, and perform edge sealing on all four sides as soon as possible after sawing the boards to prevent moisture from being quickly absorbed by dry air and causing cracks in the furniture.
3. After the furniture is made, if the house is unoccupied for more than two days, turn off two-thirds of the heating valves, put a basin of water in each room, and never open the windows, because the convection of cold and hot air will accelerate the natural cracking and bending of the board.
In a room where people live, the residents will clean and mop the floor every day, and the humidity of the indoor air will increase due to their breathing. Therefore, the chance of cracking and bending of the boards in a room where people live for a long time will be much lower.
4. There is no such thing as wood that does not crack. Even railroad tracks and bridges need to reserve space for shrinkage. Although the wood used in solid wood furniture has been air-dried for decades or even hundreds of years, it will shrink to varying degrees under conditions of unbalanced temperature and humidity. Therefore, we must pay attention to the temperature and humidity of the environment in which the ecological board is used to achieve a balance, so as to ultimately ensure that the products you use achieve the desired purpose.
