When shopping at the home improvement market, every salesperson will praise their own brand to the hilt, singling out their strengths. Without tools, we can't see the inside of the wood panels used in wooden furniture, so how can we judge the true quality of the panels? 1. What kind of wood is used for the core of the board?
Shopping guides often say that wardrobe panels have strong nail holding power, but the exact degree of strength is a rather vague concept. One of the key factors determining nail holding strength is the quality and properties of the wood used in the core. Currently, there are 800 commercially available wood species in my country, each graded. Higher grades indicate better overall quality. Spliced core boards offer stronger nail holding power and stability than particle board.
2. How many steps does the manufacturer take to make the board?
Usually, small workshops have limited manpower and resources, so the process is very simple and rough, which leads to uneven splicing of the board core, scarring, easy warping and deformation, which all affect the later use experience; the boards of large manufacturers will go through dozens of processes before they can enter the market, so the problems of these boards will be solved in the process. Choosing big brands or the top ten board brands is a relatively simple way to screen good boards.
3. What adhesive is used?
Nowadays, 90% of the boards are made of urea-formaldehyde glue, which is not a problem in itself. As long as the formaldehyde content is controlled within 0.124mg/m³, they are all environmentally friendly boards. However, if inferior urea-formaldehyde glue is used, the formaldehyde content is likely to exceed the standard. You can ask the manufacturer to provide a test report for screening.
