Wooden floor installation

People often say: 70% depends on the floor and 30% depends on the installation. In fact, it is not true. It depends more on the installation craftsmanship.

Before laying the floor, you need to have a certain understanding of the construction site:

Do not carry out construction if the ground is not dry (wet), clean, smooth or flat, otherwise it will cause certain damage to the floor.

Do not construct if there are termites in the surrounding area to prevent them from building nests and damaging the floor.

Cross-mixed operations are not allowed at the construction site to avoid wear and tear on the floor caused by falling debris, trampling, heavy objects, etc. during construction.

If the construction period is too short, the process cannot be implemented and construction will not be carried out. If the construction period is too rushed, many details of the process may not be implemented properly.

Paving method

Generally, we choose the suspended laying method for laminate flooring, first laying a layer of floor mat on the ground, and then laying the floor.

There are two benefits to this. First, the presence of the floor mat can prevent the floor from being damaged by moisture. Second, it can act as a buffer between the ground and the floor, reducing the friction between the floor and the floor caused by the weight of the human body and extending the service life of the floor.

One thing that needs to be noted is that when laying floor mats, floor mats cannot be overlapped and the joints should be taped.

Precautions

The floor should be installed starting from the left side of the room, with the grooved side facing the wall, and special pads should be added (they should be removed when the installation is completed).

At the same time, an expansion gap of 8-12 mm should be reserved to prevent the wooden floor from swelling and deforming due to increased moisture content. If the reserved gap is not enough, it will cause swelling and bulging between the floors.

The joints between floors should be tight, and there should be no obvious height difference (<0.15mm) or obvious gap (<0.15mm) between floors.

When installing skirting boards, the drilling height on the wall must be consistent and the pipes inside the wall must not be damaged.

The joints at both ends of the skirting board should be tight and of consistent height, and the nail holes on the skirting board must be covered with putty of the same color.
