How to distinguish the quality of furniture panels, look at these points first!

Nowadays, more and more young consumers are choosing custom furniture. The panels used in custom furniture are not only related to the quality of the furniture, but also closely related to the health and living comfort of the family. Therefore, choosing high-quality panels can ensure that the family can enjoy a green and safe home life with peace of mind. Today, let's briefly discuss the key points to consider when judging the quality of panels.

Look at the package

First, you can use visual inspection and touch to judge intuitively. You can feel whether the overall packaging of the front and back of the wood is flat, and whether there are any bumps or bubbles. If it is not smooth and feels rough, you should start to suspect whether it is a poor quality packaging.

Look at the side

Looking at the side edge banding, the main problem of unqualified side edge banding is the poor adhesion between the edge banding strip and the side. There are two main reasons for this:

Firstly, because particle board and density board are made of glued pieces of materials, the edges are not smooth and rough. If the amount of glue used in the edge banding is insufficient, it will easily cause the edge banding to fall off.

Secondly, the glue used for the edge banding is of poor quality and is prone to failure. The inferior glue may have good gluing quality in the first one or two years, but as time goes by, it will fall off and become ineffective due to a series of reasons such as oxidation and moisture in the air. In addition, many businesses will use "improper use by customers" as an excuse to make consumers suffer losses.

The fracture of solid wood ecological board and solid wood multi-layer board is smoother than that of particle board and density board, so under the same conditions, the gluing effect must be better than that of particle board and density board.

Sample testing

Bend it hard to see if the packaging material is loose. If it is loose, then the packaging material is definitely not bonded firmly enough or even has gaps on the bonding surface, and it cannot effectively prevent the formaldehyde in the inner material from volatilizing.

Use a sharp object to cut open the packaging surface to check the thickness of the packaging material. Generally, a thickness of 1-1.5mm is considered to meet the standard and can effectively block the volatilization of formaldehyde in the inner material.

Peel off the edge banding

PVC edge banding is now the main material, so the peeling work is relatively easy. Check the flatness of the wood section and the glued area. If only a small area is glued, it is conceivable that the effect must be poor. Of course, you can also take the opportunity to smell whether there is a pungent smell to simply judge the quality of the adhesive used.
