How to buy the most environmentally friendly board for decoration? Just know these 5 points

When decorating, every family must purchase various types of panel furniture. Most families with elderly people or babies are very concerned about the environmental protection of furniture.

A quick online search yields a wealth of information on environmental standards for panel furniture. But is it relevant? No. The industry is currently in a state of chaos, and with so few people familiar with interior design, it's incredibly difficult to discern genuine from fake.

So how can ordinary decorators buy environmentally friendly panel furniture when purchasing it? We need to know the following 5 points in detail.

1. E0 level does exist

When buying flooring for renovations, you'll undoubtedly notice that many brands indicate E0 or E1 grades. While E0 is clearly stated in the national standard, it's specific to laminate flooring. Many manufacturers also use the E0 standard for their flooring, a measure of industry self-regulation.

2. Formaldehyde is not scary

Formaldehyde is indeed toxic, but there's no need to be overly concerned. Toxic substances only become toxic when they reach a certain level; formaldehyde naturally exists, so there's no need to worry too much. There's no substance in the world that's formaldehyde-free.

The national E0 standard dose of formaldehyde can be completely blown away by opening the windows for two hours. There is no need to spend a lot of money on it during decoration. It would be more beautiful if you were scared to even use the boards.

3. E0 board is enough

As long as it is a large domestic factory, the E0 or E1 grade panels produced are quality guaranteed, so there is no need to worry after decoration.

On the contrary, you need to worry more if you go out to buy boards and make cabinets yourself. The board transaction itself is a bulk commodity business-to-business transaction. The furniture factory's warehouse is several thousand square meters, which is specially used to store the purchased boards. If you buy one or two boards yourself, what you can buy depends entirely on luck. You may not be able to buy good things even if you are willing to spend money.

4. Using less glue is not necessarily safer

There is a wrong statement on the Internet that has become a "consensus": particleboard and particle board have more glue, while core board and finger-jointed board have less glue, so particleboard is not good.

The previous sentence is correct, but the problem is that there is more than just one type of glue in the world. Urea-formaldehyde resin, which is cheap but releases a lot of formaldehyde, costs 2,000 to 3,000 yuan per ton; high-quality imported formaldehyde-free glue costs over 10,000 yuan per ton.

The latter type of glue, even if used a ton, is cleaner than the former type that only needs two or three layers. Don't be misled by this statement when decorating. Environmentally friendly boards are made of high-quality base materials, environmentally friendly adhesives are used in the production process, and are pressed by high-temperature pressing to release residual formaldehyde, which is more environmentally friendly.
