From the above survey results, we can see that there is still a lot of confusion and confusion about OSB, LSB and Australian pine boards. Below, Xiaozhou will teach you two ways to quickly distinguish OSB, LSB and Australian pine boards.
Teach you a few tricks to see through it at a glance
1. Look at the name
OSB is the abbreviation of Oriented Strand Board, which is very similar to LSB, but in fact it is not the same board; after OSB was introduced into China, it was generally translated as "European Pine Board", which sounds very similar to "Australian Pine Board", but in fact it is not the same board.
2. Look at the surface
If you see large flakes at first glance, it must be OSB board.
OSB board, also known as oriented strand board, is processed into flat, narrow flakes with a length of 40mm-120mm, a width of 5mm-20mm, and a thickness of 0.3mm-0.7mm along the direction of the wood grain through special planing equipment. After drying, gluing and using special paving equipment, the surface and core layer flakes are crisscrossed and directional paved.
3. Look at the side
Both LSB and Australian pine boards have a surface layer of fine material, but the difference lies in the size of the flakes. Based on flake size, the ranking of the three types of boards is: OSB board > LSB board > Australian pine board.
LSB board is also called veneerable oriented strand board. It has a five-layer structure with three layers of shavings paved in a criss-cross direction. Compared with OSB board, the upper and lower surfaces are paved with fine materials, which has better flatness and is easier to finish. It is widely used in the production of full-height cabinet doors in furniture.
Australian pine board, also known as particleboard, is primarily made from peeled Australian radiata pine logs and has a light pine aroma. Its three-layer construction features a core layer of wood particles and upper and lower layers of fine fiber, resulting in a high internal bond strength. Each board is precision sanded to ensure a smooth surface, making it suitable for furniture finishing.
In addition to the obvious differences mentioned above, OSB boards, LSB boards and Australian pine boards also have some similarities, such as: healthy and environmentally friendly, stable performance, no odor of rosin, strong load-bearing capacity, strong nail holding force, easy processing and no waste materials.
In terms of application, all three are suitable for use throughout the home. OSB, based on its grade, has varying load-bearing capacity and environmental adaptability, and can also be used in building structural materials, interior decoration materials, packaging boxes, train carriages, and more.
According to the above three measures
I believe that when you encounter the "plate circle triplets" again , you will not be confused. What other plates confuse you?
