Renovation requires a lot of wood. If the wood you buy is "brittle" and easily delaminates, deforms, and cracks, not only will the finished furniture last, but it might not even survive the carpentry stage. Generally speaking, to make the wood less "brittle," it's important to ensure the bond strength meets the standards.
What is bond strength?
There are two main bonding strength indicators of panels: internal bonding strength and surface bonding strength.
▲Both the internal bonding strength and the surface bonding strength of the board meet the standards
Internal bonding strength is one of the main indicators for measuring the physical and chemical properties of boards, and is one of the key points in board product quality inspection and control. It can reflect the quality of bonding between fibers inside the board. The higher the value, the better the board's ability to withstand temperature changes, the higher the bonding quality, and the less likely it is to have problems such as delamination and cracking.
Factors such as average density, core density, adhesive type, adhesive dosage, hot pressing temperature, and hot pressing pressure significantly influence the internal bond strength of the board. Increasing core density directly increases the internal bond strength of the board. Increasing the adhesive dosage increases the area covered by the adhesive, strengthening the bonding between fibers and ultimately increasing the internal bond strength of the board.
Surface bond strength reflects the processing and use performance of the board product. If this performance does not meet the standard, the board will be prone to problems such as loose structure, delamination, and detachment of the decorative surface during use. If the surface of the board is relatively rough and uneven, its surface bond strength will be weakened.

01. Optimize the hot pressing process
The three key elements of the hot pressing process are pressure, temperature, and time. Advanced hot pressing equipment and specialized welding joints ensure uniform stress distribution on the sheets. Precision digital pressure gauges accurately control the hot pressing temperature. Professionals assess factors such as the sheet's moisture content and density to determine the optimal hot pressing time. This combined approach ensures that the core layer of the sheet is adequately and evenly heated after the hot pressing process, increasing its density and enhancing internal bond strength.

02. Strictly control the gluing process
The gluing process is a process that tests experience, eyesight and hand speed. Professional and technical personnel are assigned to the board positions and strictly follow the standard operations required by the process to ensure that "the board does not drop any glue and does not shift its position at all". In addition to maintaining sufficient glue application amount and evenly spreading it, the area of the board covered by the environmentally friendly adhesive is increased, the bonding ability between fibers is enhanced, and the bonding strength within the board is thereby improved.
03. Upgrade the sanding process
Upgrading the sanding process for boards, for example, increasing the number of sandings from two to three times for rough boards, is designed to achieve better quality. Multiple sandings can remove the pre-cured layer, resulting in a smoother, flatter surface and improved surface bonding strength.
