We have always focused on providing consumers with healthy, environmentally friendly, high-quality panels. Today, we will popularize some relevant knowledge about panels, hoping that it will be helpful to everyone!
“A board with neat and smooth edges must be good?”
Answer: This statement is incorrect. In fact, the more such lumber is, the more cautious consumers should be. The trimmings are created when the lumber is sawn. Good lumber generally requires no further processing, and the trimmings often appear natural. However, because lumber of questionable quality is hollow and black inside, manufacturers may deliberately dress it up by applying a "pretty" layer of wood to the trimmings and polishing them to a smooth, even finish to deceive consumers. Therefore, this should never be used as a criterion for judging lumber quality.
“Is it better if the board is heavier?”
Answer: The weight of the board is determined by the core material. If the same size and thickness are made with different core materials, the weight of the finished product will definitely be different. For example, Malacca core is relatively light, while fir core is heavier.
Some may ask, why do different brands weigh different weights even though the core material is the same? This is because the degree of drying varies. Experts always check the drying degree before purchasing lumber. Well-dried lumber is lighter, less prone to cracking, and has a smoother surface. If you encounter a lumber that's heavy despite having a light core material, be careful; it's likely due to incomplete drying. (All lumber is fully dried!)
For lay consumers, the safest way is to go to a reliable building materials market and buy some well-known brand boards. (Both the boards are reliable to buy and use~)
"Grade 3A, is it the highest grade of board?"
Beibei's answer: There's no "3A grade" in the national standard; this term is a personal decision made by the company. From an environmental perspective, it's usually represented by E1, E0, or formaldehyde-free grades. From a craftsmanship perspective, finger-jointed and long strips are good choices. From a branding perspective, of course, it's great.
How many types of decorative panels are there? How to choose?
Answer: Boards are divided into solid wood boards and artificial boards according to their materials. Currently, artificial boards are mostly used except for high-end furniture which uses solid wood boards. Common artificial boards are divided into: blockboard, ecological board, plywood, integrated board, density board, particle board, etc. How to choose depends on actual needs and personal preferences. Among them, ecological board is the one that retains aesthetic effects and is closest to solid wood.
When buying boards for decoration, you often hear about 3cm boards, 7cm boards, 9cm boards, 12cm boards, 15cm boards, and 18cm boards. In fact, "cm is a unit, 1cm = 1mm, which is the thickness of a board". The specifications of the boards are generally 2440MM long and 1220MM wide.
3cm board: mainly used as the substrate for veneer panels.
5cm board, 7cm board, 9cm board: can be used as the bottom or back board of furniture.
12cm boards, 15cm boards and 18cm boards: can be used directly to make furniture, etc.
