5 key points for whole house customization acceptance

2025-10-20

In recent years, many people have opted for full-home customization to enhance their home comfort, creating personalized furniture that better suits their lifestyle. However, full-home customization also has its pitfalls. Do you know how to inspect and accept a full-home customization project? Let's discuss this today.

01. Check whether the board is consistent with the contract

When we inspect and accept the whole house customization, we first need to check and verify whether the board is consistent with the contract. We can use ultraviolet light to illuminate the logo of the board, or check the trademark on the surface of the board. In addition, we need to look at the cross-section of the board to see if it meets the requirements. We also need to focus on the thickness of the board. According to the contract, we can compare whether it is 9mm, 15mm, or 18mm. Different thicknesses have different prices. Finally, we need to compare the color of the customized furniture with the color sample we selected previously. When comparing colors, we need to look not only at the overall color of the whole house customization, but also at the color of every detail, such as cabinet doors, drawers, tabletops, etc.

02. Is there any bump on the edge of the board surface?

During the transportation and installation process of the whole house customization, there may be bumps. Therefore, during the acceptance, we need to carefully check whether there are any signs of bumps on the edge of the board surface. If there are signs of bumps, then this may affect the appearance of the whole house customization and may even affect the use of the whole house customization.

03. Check the edge banding of the board

The quality of edge banding can be judged by whether the edge banding is smooth and thick, and whether there is any peeling or cracking. If the edge banding is not tight enough, it will affect the appearance. Currently, the three most common edge banding methods for panels are EVA, PUR, and laser. Among them, laser edge banding is expensive and is less popular. Compared with EVA and PUR edge banding, although both use glue, PUR edge banding uses less glue, is more environmentally friendly, and has better flatness.

04. Check all hardware

When accepting custom-made furniture for the whole house, the quality of the hardware must be strictly controlled. This is related to the service life of the furniture. Not only do you need to check whether the brand and quantity of the hardware are consistent, but you also need to check the opening and closing of cabinet doors and drawers to see if there is any jamming or abnormal noise. Only when there is no problem can you confirm the acceptance.

05. Check the flatness of the cabinet door

There are two ways to check. First, check if the cabinet doors are on the same plane. This is a simple method: close a row of cabinet doors and feel the gap between the two door panels. If there is an unevenness, it will be obvious. Second, check if the cabinet doors are flush from top to bottom. Run your hand along the top or bottom of the cabinet door and then to the other end. This will tell you if there is a serious problem, and you can even see it with the naked eye.
